I'm torn....I think he probably is taking up a roster spot


But that is what the minors are for....there are lots of players in the minors that everyone knows will never make the big club, but they can play at that level so they stay until someone pushes them out.

If he wasn't the media creation he is he would likely have never been given that chance to begin with.

On the other hand, he is a good person who has done a lot for a lot of people with that same media created celebrity. His foundation has positively impacted the lives of so many kids through the Night to Shine (including my daughter).

On balance if it keeps him in the spotlight and he uses that spotlight for good, it's worth the roster spot IMO.
